Multiple Perspectives
9 x 12 in, Spring 2006
My thesis book titled Multiple Perspectives explores
the many ways
in which one can view and interpret an image.
The unbound book consists of 17, two-sided pages of
newsprint folded in half. Each side contains a project
with two captions, one caption written by me and one written
by someone else, to suggest the subjectivity inherent in interpreting
visual imagery.
The book can be handled in multiple ways:
The viewer can flip through the pages like a book to
see half of each project juxtaposed with another project
and read one
of the two accompanying captions or she can
unfold
the book and see each project in full with both captions
at once.
The margin that runs throughout contains my writing and a bibliography that relates to my thesis work.
